The National Brain Appeal
Приєднався 22 сер 2014
The National Brain Appeal aims to transform the lives of the millions of people affected by neurological and neuromuscular conditions. It helps to drive advancement by funding pioneering research, innovative treatments and world-class facilities - over and above what the NHS can provide.
Since the charity was launched in 1984, it has raised more than £56m for ground-breaking projects. It plans to deliver a further £100m of investment by 2032 to enable the advances that the neurological community so desperately needs.

The National Brain Appeal's Rare Space Garden - Episode 2
The National Brain Appeal's Rare Space Garden at Exbury Gardens, Hampshire
Project Giving Back, who sponsored the charity’s multi-award winning garden at the 2023 RHS Chelsea Flower Show and its relocation to Exbury Gardens in the New Forest, captured the official opening of the garden at Exbury on film.
It features our then chief executive Theresa Dauncey, Professor Nick Fox, Rare Dementia Support member Helena Clarke, and garden designer Charlie Hawkes, who discuss the importance of the garden and its positive impact on people living with a rare form of dementia.
Charlie created this award-winning garden with input from members of Rare Dementia Support, particularly those living with posterior cortical atrophy (PCA), a condition that affects visual and spatial awareness. The garden offers a balance between exploration and calm navigation with features that make it accessible. It will eventually be located at the world’s first Rare Dementia Support Centre, part of UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, in 2025.

Please!!! Dr. Ken Berry, dr. Anthony Chaffee . Carnivore diet reverses dementia! Cut out carbohydrates!!!! A paradise for parents in Phoenix Arizona has patients checking out!! I love you my friend!! Praying for you!!
I remember her in Rome.
My sister (3 years younger) has been in care facilities for 7 years. I live far away and hadn't seen her. She is now 57 years old. I saw her this week and it was heartbreaking. To be honest, I can't handle watching this video at the moment. I'm still in a bit of a shock. God bless these people and their families. 🙏❤️🇨🇦.
Sorry for your heartbreak 💔
Nano plastics.
That is no longer living really
It's worrying but talking to your doctor or mind is a great way of just helping your loved one. Genetic genes around Alzheimer disease is still in its growth but a GP will always advise
Great to see one of our kirkby lads supporting this cause my mum has mixed dementia its so sad lost dad 2 years ago they were married 60 years and she cant remember him 😢
When will assist come in ? I hope I go quickly
This is your government killing you , remember "mad cow disease" your government wants to kill you.
W.O.W…….
🤯🙏🥰🫶🏻
Don’t run 😢
Loved this Joanna David! Especially Thomas Hardy You were the most perfect Mrs Dewinter in Rebecca. My favourite! Thank you and bless you♥️🙏
Wonderful!! I love his voice, it's a fine book, I've read it. Also, thr movie 1935 or so with ronald colman, is very good. Mr. Lesser read the opening scene. The movie uses the actual dialog, word for word. Thank you, I wish you could read us the whole book! Would take a while ❤. Thank you again.
Did you get the mirror on your car fixed yet?
The little prince and sexy Nicola 😂
❤
I have Lewy Body dementia and im 58 i can feel the mental slowness changing in just 6 months time. Its like your thoughts are wading through syrup. Everybody progress differently for that im grateful 😊
Thank you for sharing that. It must be so hard, especially as you see yourself progressing and can do nothing about it.
Hustle ❤ash
BRAVO !!!!!
This woman is such a great actress. I’d cast her in a minute.
Lovely poem Alastair.
Fabulous reading. I love Norah Hoult
So glad you are in tune with patients dilemma post stroke this is an area that has been sadly lacking but your plans with therapists looks promising
Thankyou for all your hard work and the national brain appeal for being so generous
Marvellous progress and hope for better medical intervention at a much quicker time congratulations on your success so far
My sister had Lewy Body Dementia, for 7 years. It's plax in your brain that destroys the brain cells at an accelerated level. She had hallucinations, trouble walking and talking, almost immediately.Round the clock care , diapers, etc! 4 years in her house in Ridgefield, CT, and then the ,last 3, at the assisted living facility, The Residence in Darien, CT. She was a vegetable at the end. Blessings and prayers to the family. Anything neurological, is a horror.
Plaques not plax
@@barbaravyse660how insensitive!!! Being a grammar police when we're talking about something so sad for families.
Thank you Joanna
Miss Bluebell! Wonderful lady
Her voice is so calming and soothing
I did the drawings ❤
My clever bro. ❤
LEGEND 👋👋👊
Lord Darlington !❤
What a lucky little boy his grandson is. Imagine having this grandpa reading you stories.
amzing guy mr ktchen !!!
One of my favourite British actresses reading a wonderful poem 🙂
Beautifully presented. Well done, David.
Anton is a great story teller with his accents and knowing when to pause…
Anton could read from the phone book and I’d listen x
Vile anti-Semite.
We treat our pets better. Assisted suicide needs to be an option for such diseases.
Who makes these decisions? The family? To get a hold of an inheritance?
Part of the problem is the very high risk for abuse. This has already occurred in countries that have allowed assisted suicide for a while. And the more people choose AS, the more people will be encouraged, and eventually coerced, into doing it. That’s a terrifying prospect.
@@catherinealexander6255Indeed. Many speak of witnessing loved ones' suffering - and that is very hard - but I have seen many people in care homes (not just elderly - all ages) who have families but those families don't visit. It's heartbreaking. Are those the ones who will take an interest if money is available when the loved one is gone?
@@catherinealexander6255I agree.
@@catherinealexander6255very scary!!
Super excited to see the garden!
The National took such great care of my dear Mum ❤
We need more research like this!
Wonderful Narration. Gartside's eloquent, graceful and punctilious narration, alongside her detailed facial expressions, depicted Over the Hill and Far Away's short story's atmosphere properly.
Fantastic actor, great voice👍
Honestly hope he's alright today Guys a legend so awesome
Carolyn Pickles is a wonderful actress. :)
I also got Covid in March 2020!
